AUGUST’SNOTE

What is it that keeps us or gets us on the ‘happiness track’? Nobody is always going to be in a constant state of happiness, but it’s definitely possible to do some ‘happy planning’ every now and then. After more consideration and thinking and digging a little deeper, I decided to write the August post about what we can do daily to live a happier life. Happiness is very much in your control and when you learn to choose (and you really do have a choice), it gradually becomes a norm and more happiness will come. Big changes come from minor things you do every day, so it’s better to focus on the little things you can do something about while practicing a more productive life filled with rich relationships, good health and vitality.

Please don’t forget if you have any feedback, I would love to hear from you, why not leave me a comment? Also, if you have not already done so, please hook up via your preferred social media platform to receive free reminders on what matters most during your working week. Last but not least, don’t forget, smile and have some fun along the way!

#16THEHAPPYPLAN

Happy Plan

Yikes, here comes that question again – how happy am I? How can I become happier? What is happiness? Nobody is always going to be in a state of happiness, but it’s definitely possible to do some ‘happy planning’ every now and then. (more…)

#08GENEROSITY

Give more than you take

Generous People
Christmas is here and is all about giving, so I felt it was timely I write about this topic – the topic of generosity. If you are anything like me, gifts are on the mind RIGHT NOW and you are thinking what to give to who this year, way in advance.

But, why should we be waiting until Christmas to practice some generosity and to be generous? It takes so little and it is so easy to be generous, it should be a daily practice in all of us, right? I’m a true believer in giving – generosity is in my blood. My parents were extremely generous, even though they had very little, they would have given the shirts off their backs for anyone less fortunate, or for anyone that came into their lives for that matter. Being generous makes me feel good, inside and out. There is nothing that gives me more pleasure than to watch someone enjoy my generosity or being part of and witnessing someone else giving in some way.

I don’t believe you become wealthy in life and then you decide to be generous. I just believe that some people give and some people just don’t – there are plenty of people with little money but are the most generous people I know. When I think of someone who is generous, I think nice things about that person. Don’t you just love generous people, what a wonderful trait to have! While, on the other hand, there are others with loads of money who don’t give (well not for no reason). I know of many who are rich and are unbelievably tight with money, usually these types only give when they are in the presence of others to look good or give for something in return… I am sure you can think of a few as well!

positive thinking

I have always been conscious of what I am saying to myself and how I am saying it. Looking back on some of the most challenging times throughout my career, as well as my personal life, I have come to believe that this ‘inner chatter’ of positive thinking is what got me through those moments. The one person you chat to daily is yourself, within your own mind. These self-reflexive thoughts we communicate to ourselves, control both the way we feel and act, and ultimately turn from mere thoughts into reality. It is only by becoming fully aware of our thoughts that we can catch the ones that are negative and stop them in their tracks.

The following 10 tips about your thought patterns with some positive thinking will hopefully inspire and motivate you to create a positive future. With some practice, you can completely control the way you think, and it is such habitual thought patterns that will ultimately determine your level of happiness…
